How much is shipping?
The Soap Standard is located on Cabrogal land in Western Sydney, Australia. We ship within Australia using Australia Post's standard delivery service. All orders include tracking information and carbon neutral delivery.
- Small parcels (up to 500 grams): $12.50 AUD flat rate.
- Medium parcels (500 grams to 1 kg): $15.50 AUD flat rate.
- Free shipping: All orders over $75.00 AUD.
- We do not offer Express or International shipping (read why here).
- Carbon emissions: We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and have partnered with Greenfleet Australia to offset 100% of our order-related carbon emissions.
How long is delivery?
Processing: Please note that due to the handmade nature of our products, orders may take 1-5 business days to be processed and made ready for shipping. As a soapmaker living with disabilities, I deeply appreciate your patience and support during this time.
Delivery: Once your order is received by Australia Post, parcels delivered within Australia can generally take between 2-10 business days. However, please note that shipping times may vary due to factors outside of our control such as the COVID-19 pandemic, extreme weather conditions, and busy holiday periods. To learn about any disruptions or delays for your location, we recommend referring to the Australia Post website for the latest information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
What if an item I’ve ordered is out of stock?
All our soap bars are handmade and slow-cured over several months before they are ready for sale. This means that when a product is out of stock, it can take a little while before more soap bars will be in-stock on our website. For example, we cure our True Castile Soap Bars for at least 6 months to create long-lasting bars that are super gentle on your skin.
We will notify you within 72 hours if an item you have ordered is out of stock or your order cannot be fulfilled for another reason.
What if my order is lost or damaged in transit?
Each order is carefully inspected and photographed before being packed in a padded paper mailer. Orders sent via Australia Post include tracking and are covered for loss or damage up to $100 AUD under Australia Post’s terms.
While we take every care when packing your order, delivery delays or issues once the parcel is in transit are outside our control. If your order arrives damaged or appears to be lost, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help guide you through the next steps with Australia Post.

How do I dispose of the packaging?
The majority of our packaging is intentionally free from plastic and can either be composted at home or recycled via your regular kerbside recycling program. By using home compostable packaging, you also have the option of disposing of the packaging in a worm farm.
Our goal is to continuously enhance our packaging options with the objective of sending nothing to landfill. We believe in being transparent about our packaging materials and have provided a detailed breakdown below:
- Padded mailer (100% paper): Reusable, home compostable, and recyclable.
- Product wrapper (100% paper): Home compostable and recyclable.
- Shipping label (100% paper): Home compostable and recyclable.
- Shipping stickers (plastic): Unfortunately, these stickers may be added to your parcel by Australia Post and are not compostable or easily recyclable. Please remove them from the mailer and dispose of them in your landfill bin.
